My friend Kit has visited Thailand 3 times this year and she had highly recommended Chiang Mai before i went. Sure enough, only the next day after my arrival I had the urge to book one more flight ticket to spend my next holiday there also. And Baan Boo Loo, the guest house i stayed for 7 days is on top of my must-revisit list. Baan Boo Loo means “Simple life”, exactly what I needed on my vacation. Thanks to my best friend for 20 years, 鱼儿 who chose it.
I enjoyed the whole experience of living there but as always, i’d like to document delicious food first. During our stay, we had home made breakfast every morning.
Baan Boo Loo staff would bring fresh fruit and start cooking breakfast once we sat down at this table.
Can't express how much i love this color combination
Different everyday but always included some bread and butter, tea/coffee, fresh fruit, eggs, barbecue pork and veggie soup
I was in love with the simple healthy breakfast they provided.
The night before we left, they cooked us a table of authentic Northern Thai meal as a surprise!
We were almost in tears. After a week in Chiang Mai, we were gonna cut some calories by skipping that meal
but instead we were offered a table of home made month-watering Thai food.
Our dieting plan was a total fail but we enjoyed it so much and devoured all!
As my flight was in the evening and my friend left in the morning, i had a whole day there by myself. The owner and staff of Baan Boo Loo cooked whole three meals for me!! I was chilling and reading at the common area during their lunch time so they cooked me this:
I had another meal with all the staff before i headed out for my last massage on my trip.
Authentic home made Northern Thai food was overall very different from what i thought it would be.
This sausage was way too sour for me.
But i did enjoy freshly made papaya salad
and the steamed pumpkin. i did not know pumpkin was like an alternative of noodle for them.
Overall I had a very pleasant stay not only because of all the nice staff, wonderful meals but also the natural and relaxing environment. I will definitely recommend Baan Boo Loo to all my friends who want to visit Chiang Mai.
